Evening Makeup Look
I have been having a play around with some of my make up to create this evening look, which is something that I really need to make more time to do! I did have a reason to get dolled up though, going out for a few birthday cocktails seemed a good enough reason.
I have been using my Revlon Colour Stay foundation which has been a favorite of mien for a long time. I have been setting my makeup with some setting powder from Pixi, which is a relatively new find but I am loving using it. I have used a palette from Nip + Fab this was actually in my advent calendar this year and I love it! Its just the right shades for me.
I have been sticking with my eyebrow pomade from Makeup Revolution, which again is something that I keep on coming back to. My eye shadow is mostly from the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette which was a Christmas gift and I defiantly love this palette I was expecting good things from this one as I have all of the other Naked palettes and I really do love them all. I had a go at a cut crease look which is something that I do want to keep practicing for sure. I added a little bit of glitter on the top using Mac's reflects gold which is such a lovely colour.
Finally my lip colour is from Phase Zeros new range this is a liquid lipstick, it goes on really well and did stay put pretty much for most of my cocktails!

Phase Zero X LMB
I have had a little time off from blogging, had a busy couple of weeks celebrating my birthday
I have received an excited package over this time from the people at Love Me Beauty, which is a subscription service. I have covered some of their monthly goodie bags is previous blog posts. They have launched something a little different. Phase Zero is still a subscription service but it gives you access to makeup of your choice at factory prices which will save you 77%. You can become a member for just £5 per month, and looking at some of the products that I have received I can see this been very popular!
The sent across a selection of their lip products, this included Liquid Lipsticks, Lip Glosses and Lip Toppers. I do like the packaging, it is very sleek looking. The only issue that I had was trying to open the cardboard boxes, but that is probably more down to my overly long nails, but they are totally fine as a birthday mani right!
The wands all seam really well made and a really good size for dispensing the product.
I have chosen my favorite shade from each product type which I will show you below
First is one of their liquid lipsticks in the shade Gingerbread I have to say that this was not the shade I was expecting from the name, but it is a lovely deep shade. It goes on well and dries matte. It has good staying power as it is a matte. I found it to be a little drying but I think that is the norm with a matte finish
Next up is one of their Lip Toppers in the shade Prosecco Kiss, I had an idea that I would quite like this shade judging by the name! I am not sure that I would get quite so much use out of this, it has a very 90's feel to it been so sparkly. But it really is gorgeous! This looks good on its own or over the top of other lipsticks
Finally this is one of their Lip glosses, It is in a lovely bright red shade called Pillar Box Red. It is still very pigmented for a gloss, which I really like and wasn't expecting. It does feel a little sticky but is also a moisturisg gloss

Pixi By Petra Key to Glowing Skin
Hi its good to be back after a lovely break! I had a great Christmas spending quality time with loved ones, it has definitely flew by! I'm looking forward to plenty of exciting times that 2018 will bring!
I wanted to take a look at one of the packages that I received over the holidays, this gorgeous package from Pixi
It has the cutest little padlock to get into it which I thought was a lovely touch!
One the one side there are two of their skincare products. The Rose Cavier Essence, which is an amazing hydrating serum

Finally and I think my favorite items in this package are these fabulous liquid lipsticks, they included all 5 shades in this box so I was incredibly thankful. I have been wearing liquid lipsticks more and more as I love the longevity of the wear and I am getting braver when it comes to my colour choices!
These colours are perfect for me they are all ones that I would comfortably wear as I do tend to lean towards the more pinky nude shades!

Pixi By Petra Your Lips But Better
I have been sent some lovely lip products from Pixi By Petra. I have only tried a couple of lipsticks from this brand before. I have to say that I have found them to be really good quality.
This collection contained 3 lipsticks that are in lovely wearable shades for me, and are perfect for this time of year. I like the formula they are not a matte lipstick are kind of a creamy formula, they are not glossy either, they are kind of an in between which I actually really like, as they are not as drying as a matte, and they are really comfortable to wear.
The other 3 are lip balms, these for me are perfect for this time of year, they do give you a bit of colour but not too much. They are really moisturising which is defiantly needed with this colder weather!
The packaging is really nice they have the typical green packaging from Pixi which I really like its definitely their colour

Mary Kay Cosmetics
I have been sent some products from Mary Kay Cosmetics to try out this week, this is a brand that I have not heard of before, but I was excited to try them once I had a look into it.
They very kindly sent me 3 items: The first been a body lotion, a lipstick and a moisturising gel

First of all I love the packaging of this lipstick its so cool, it took me a while to figure it out to be honest, you push it from the bottom then the lipstick slides out, Its really neat packaging. As for the colour its lovely just not quite to my taste it is a little bright for me. The formula however is lovely its not drying on the lips but still stays put really well.

Sleek Makeup
I have been trying out some new makeup this week from a brand that I have not used a great deal in the past. These products are all from Sleek Makeup, and they sent me some lovely items to try out!
The first product is the Face Contour Kit, this is priced at £7, and I think that is a really reasonable price for a duo pallette.

I found it to be really lovely to use, it is very blendable, the product itself is not to pigmented, but I do actually prefer that with bronzer, its a lot less scary to apply and more buildable.
They also sent me 2 of their Life Proof Foundations in 2 different shades. This is currently on offer on their website for £7, which again I think is really good price for a foundation

It is definaly not a full coverage foundation and gave me a more dewy finish that what I would normally go for, I liked how it was really easy to blend out. I think that this foundation would be good for me on a good skin day. Overall it is a good foundation
The next product is a beautiful eye shadow palette, this is the I Define Diamond Decade palette, priced at £8.99

There really is a stunning array of colours, I really am a fan of a smokey eye and these black and grey tones are great for that, I really like the pink tones to I think these create a really warm look. Something that I am really loving at the moment, as I reviewed previously with the Makeup Revolution palette
The shadows themselves are a really nice formula, they have a little bit of fallout especially with the shimmery shades, but with a primer these lasted no problem, they are also nice buildable shades, perfect for creating a smokey look.
They sent one of their Lip VIP Lipsticks in the shade Dream Decade, this is priced at £5.50
This is what Sleek say about the Lipstick:

I really liked the formula of this lipstick, its fairly matte, which gives is great staying power, but it is still really moisturising on the lips.
I was not a fan of the colour to be honest, it just was not the shade for me, it was definitely more a summer shade
The final item is this matte liquid lipstick in the shade Old Hollywood, this is priced at £4.99

This to was an amazing consistency, I have to admit, that I did not read the packaging and thought that this would be a lip gloss, witch I rarely wear at the moment. It went on like a gloss then dried matt, which I love, it also stayed on pretty well. It is probably a bit more "pinky" than I would normally go for but it is overall a nice versatile shade

Love Me Beauty Aug 17
This months Love Me Beauty bag has been one of my favorites so far I have to say. It contains products from Kat Von D, plus produts from a brand called Buxom, which is new to the UK and has recently launched in Debenhams.
Each month the Love Me Beauty membership is worth 60 credits and you simply chose the item you want inside your box from a selection of products ranging from hair, body, nails, skincare and make-up with majority of the items being full sized or travel sized. You can now add on extra credit packages as well as the opportunity to treat yourself all month long! You can also expect to see your chosen picks inside an ever so cute make up bag to match the theme.
The first product is from Buxom, it is a travel sized lip gloss from Buxom, called their Full-on Lip Polish, in the shade Dolly. this sheer, shimmering lip polish makes lips look fuller and more voluptuous and also includes Vitamins A and E to help keep lips soft, smooth and protected, with a refreshing tingling sensation, The shade is a sheer wearable pink shiny gloss. It does have a slight tingle to it but nothing that is too over powering. I think that it did make my lips appear more full.
I like prefer sizes of perfume as they are handbag and travel friendly but it’s a great way to sample a scent before you buy the full size. I received Kat Von D sinner Eau de Parfum which form parts of the Saint and Sinner collection – saint is also available from Love Me Beauty and the sample. This perfume is described as dark, sultry, and empowering, this addictive fragrance is inspired by Kat’s own duality. A little sweet, a little spicy, and undeniably fearless! Cinnamon spices up vanilla and white florals at the heart of the fragrance, while base notes of vetiver, patchouli, and wood form the deeper, darker nuances. Experience confidence in a bottle – Sinner is the fragrant embodiment of the edgy, unapologetic, and outspoken Kat Von D we know and love!
Next up is the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in the shade Cathedral. this is a matte coco rose which is lovely and ideal for every day wear. This long-wear, pigment-rich lipstick is formulated with Color Cushion Technology to keep your pout feeling comfy and velvety soft. I found this to be creamy, easy to apply and it lasted really well.
Next was Buxom Cosmetics Lash Mascara, a vitamin enriched, clump resistant formula that deepens. darkens and thickens lashes while the hourglass shaped brush evenly coats lashes, from root to tip, for perfect separation and definition. It alsio claims to be long wearing, vitamin enriched, smudge and clump resistant. I got on really well with this mascara, the want is HUGE! but it does thicken the lashes, its just a bit hard on the corners of the eyes and bottom lashes due to the size of the wand!
Finally there was also Kat Von D Setting Powder included, which is a translucent shade and is designed to lock your base in place all day as well as bluring the appearance with a velvet-matte finish. The formula is incredibly lightweight and blurs out imperfections for a super flawless finish however, I did notice that if you layered this on too much it does make your skin look overly dry. Also, while this powder claims to be translucent and friendly for all skin tones, I found that it had somewhat of a lightening and brightening effect on my face. I guess the lesson here is a little goes a long way. I have found this to be the case with different translucent powders they just take a bit more blending!

Pixi Sheer Beauty
I have had some lovely products from Pixi this month, they are their Gel tint and Silk gloss lip products, these are a duo of a stain and then a gloss over the top, these are available in 3 colours. The second lot of items were their cheek stains, these are a sheer gel that comes in 3 shades to.
Sheer Cheek Gel:
I normally use a dry powdered blush that I apply with a brush, so this cheek gel was definitely outside of my normal makeup routine.I applied a small amount of the cheek gel after I applied my foundation and rubbed it in using my fingers. I was surprised how well the gel blended into my foundation giving me a natural looking flush. I found that the moist gel texture gave skin a dewy glow and natural flush more than your typical blush. It lasted on my cheeks all day giving my skin a fresh summer glow. I am so excited to try this gel out some more and possibly layer the different colors. I was then able to apply my powder to set my makeup as normally.

I was expecting the color to be very bright on my lips because it looked so bold in the bottle especially the bright pink gloss. I was actually kind of relieved when I applied the lip stain because the colours are so natural and perfect for an everyday look. When it comes to my everyday makeup look, I like to keep it simple especially my lips. I usually wear a bright red lipstick when I am taking photos or going to an event. I love these lip sets because you can layer the silk gloss with the lip tint or wear it on its own for a subtle effect. I was surprised how moisturizing the lip gloss was on my lips, and it worked perfectly as a moisturiser with added shine.
Apply tint or gloss onto lips for a quick pick me up or layer first with the tint then top off with the gloss for added dimension

I love these! Especially the gel tint! Plus, it has a subtle peppermint scent to it that is a big yes for me! Since it’s quite on the sheer side, all the available shades suit every type of skin tone. It’s down to how much pop of color you’d like to wear. The most natural/nude shade has to be the Berry Tint and Sweet Gloss combo. For a darker mood, opt for the Beach Tint and Fresh Gloss! But if you’re looking for that pretty pink flush, you definitely have to go for the Pink Tint and Pretty Gloss one.

Lip Monthly

Model Co Lipstick in the shade Truffle - £13.63
This is a really lovely pinky nude colour, it is a glossy finish which is really hydrating. I love the packaging of this product, it is really sleek, I prefer the thinner lipsticks, I find them easier to hold.
Sugar Crayon in the shade Poison Ivy - £13.73
I would class this as a matte shade, it is really pigmented and as this is quite a dark shade a little goes a long way!
Cosmoholic Gloss in the shade Mysterious Mocha - £10.02
This is a liquid lipstick, but it is a lot more moisturising than some that I have used in the past. It also has a mirror on the side of the bottle which I thought was a really nice touch.
Cargo Eye shadow in the shade St Tropez - £12.83
This is a natural beige shade, it is slightly shimmery, I found it to be really blendable and had a good colour pay off. This is the sort of neutral shade that I would tend to go for, so i'm sure I will be getting plenty of use out of this.

#Pixipretties
I received this package from Pixi, it came completely out the blue it was not something that I was expecting, it came in a huge box. the box that came inside was massive to! These pictures really do no do it justice. I was struggling to find somewhere to take photos of this whole package. The living room rug seemed the best choice in the end.
The box it in Pixi's signature green colour and has to doors on the front with a magnetic closing on them. Once I opened these doors I was amazed at what was inside.

These are 4 totally different sets of products that look absolutely amazing! I'll have a more in depth look at them below:
First up is ItsJudyTime! Judy has been in the YouTube world for a long time.For her collab, she decided to create two products an eye and lip palette.
I have used Pixi's eye shadows before, and I love the consistency of them, the shimmery shades were very silky and I didn't have a problem with fall out. the matte shades were slightly harder to blend but they do blend out nicely with a bit of patience. I was also impressed with how long they stayed put. overall it is a lovely palette with great wearable shades.
I’m not a fan of lip palettes because they can get very messy BUT I do have to say they’re very convenient. The ItsLipTime features a collection of lip colors in a range of wearable colors. The lip colors look very similar to Pixi’s usual lipstick formula which is actually pretty nice. You can apply with your finger but I would recommend using a lip brush for an even application.
Aspyn Ovard collaboration, consists of three shimmering Glow-y Powders and an Eye Accents kit.
Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder:
Available in three beautiful shimmery shades, the Glow-y Powder features a soft but slightly dusty formulation. The pigmentation is very impressive but I find that the powder doesn't adhere very well to the skin so all three shades provide a much sheerer application than you'd expect. The powders are housed in a simple green pot with a twist-off lid; the packaging isn't all that convenient, but they are a really decent size!
Rome Rose: This is a beautiful coral rose blush packed with soft golden shimmers.
Santorini Sunset: A classic champagne shimmer, this shade is very pigmented but the texture was not as creamy or buttery as I would have liked.
London Lustre: A pigmented icy champagne shimmer, London Lustre is perfect for those with pale skin and a cooler undertone.
Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Eye Accents:
This is an eye and brow duo featuring a simple clear Brow Tamer and a teeny tiny Lower Lash Mascara. I have never really used a mascara that is specifically designed for the lower lash, I normally just use whatever is on the top lashes! The applicator is truly perfect for catching those wispy lower lashes. Unsurprisingly, I have used the brow gel before and I am still a fan, they keep my eyebrows in place all day!
Here are all the products in the center on the box. they are all a decent size and again I love the packaging.
Maryam has given us the Strobe & Sculpt, and the Strobe & Bronze Palette. Both palettes contain six gorgeous and pigmented buildable powders that have a brilliant staying power.
The Strobe & Sculpt Palette contains 3 highlight and 3 contour shades help achieve refined lighting and defined shading for a seamless luminous finish. At first glance, I thought that the contours were going to be too dark for my fair skin, but, as mentioned, the shades are extremely buildable. They apply light at first, which makes the powder versatile for a variety of skin tones. I’m very picky with the contour powders that I use, but this palette contains one of my favorite, go-to shades!
The Strobe & Bronze Palette. If you want a bronzed glow, or a highlight that is really pigmented then, you have to get this palette! There are 3 highlight and 3 bronze shades, and all of them are just amazing! This palette is going to come in handy during the Summer months! And that highlight in the middle is amazing it is such a versatile shade!
And now for the Strobe & Sculpt Brush! I knew this brush was going to be good, but it’s my brush for everything now! This dual ended, super soft, synthetic fiber brush applies and blends contour, bronzing and highlighting shades seamlessly! I’ll be honest, I didn’t think I was going to use the tapered side all that much, but it’s fantastic for highlight! I usually opt for a fluffier brush for my powdered highlighters, but this one works beautifully!
Finally is Caroline Hiron's Double Cleanse. Years ago Caroline introduced us all to the Pixi Glow Tonic and it was incredible. I'm totally obsessed with double cleansing so I was very excited for the solid and cream cleanser duo. It's paraben free, fragrance free, and not tested on animals! The solid oil gets off all of my makeup so easily. It's super gentle on my skin, but still powers through my waterproof mascara! The cream cleanser is also lovely, The oil side contains Vitamin E to protect and condition, Cameillia Oil which is rich in Omegas, and Evening Primrose Oil to heal and moisturise the skin. The cream side contains Vitamin C to protect and promote collagen, a Peptide Complex to plump and reduce lines, Arginnie which improves cell renewal and elasticity. This is also becoming a permanent product.

Seventeen Lipsticks
I was lucky enough to be sent some more products from Seventeen. This time it was some of their lip products. There were two lipsticks and and lip crayon.
I have found myself using lip crayons more lately, it was something that I didn't think to use, but I do like using them. They are more precise as they normally have a smaller tip. This lip crayon was surprising glossy, which I don't mind, I think I prefer the matte look at the moment but I do find glossy shades easier to wear as there are some matte lip products that can be drying on the lips. This crayon is a darker cherry shade, and overall I really like the product.
The two lipstick surprised me with how vibrant and pigmented they are! They are both defiantly very eye catching, not something that I would wear for a day look. For an evening however these would be great. They are both orangy coral toned so I feel that these are more of a spring summer tone, which is great as I can't wait for some warmer weather now!

Freedom Makeup
Freedom has been a brand that I have been curious about for a while now, but for one reason or another I have never actually purchased any thing from the range. I don't normally have that level of self control when it comes to makeup!
I was having a browse on Superdrug's website and found a couple of items that I though I would give a go from the range. I didn't go crazy... surprisingly! I do have plenty of makeup to us, but I did get a couple of bits that I thought for me were products that I would not normally go for. I thought I would share my thoughts with you....
The 3 items that I went for are:
The brow pomade in the shade chocolate,
Pro Contour Stick in the shade medium
Finally the Pro Melts Stripped Collection, which is a set of 3 liquid lipsticks.
The first item the brow pomade is a product that I have been looking into trying for a while, I have tried a lot of different brow products recently for my brows and I do always seem to lean towards a brow pencil. I have tried a few powders but never a pomade product. I have seen reviews that compare this product to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade, but at a much more affordable price. The product itself is very pigmented, a lot more so than I expected! So you only need a small amount, I can see this product lasting me a long time. I applied it with a small angled brush and I was very impressed with the result. It lasted me all day and did take some removing at the end of the day. It is a more dramatic look than what I would normally achieve with my pencil, but I think I also need some time to play around with it to get the look I am looking for.
Overall I have been very impressed with this product and I am looking forward to experimenting with it even more

The next item is the Pro Contour Stick, I have tried many different contour products both creme and powder but these are normally in a palette or individual, so I have never tried a stick version of the product before. I found this easy to apply exactly where I wanted it, with it been a stick. It was also very blend-able. The stick wasn't actually as pigmented as I expected it to be, I'm not sure if I see this as a positive or a negative point as I think that contour is a lot more blend-able if it is not too pigmented, if that makes sense. I want the product to create a shadow on my cheekbone mostly nothing to harsh. The highlight end was good under my eye area which is something that I would normally use a concealer for, this is a matte shade so I still did add some of my powder highlight over the top, but overall this product worked very well.

The final product is the liquid lipstick pack, I got the stripped collection which contained 3 shades: Expose, Stripped and Bare. As shown below (in that order)
I have been yet to try a liquid lipstick, but I have seen them all over the internet so I was intersted to see what all the fuss is about. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one at first. I just wanted to see how I got along with them. Now I have tried them I can see why people have been raving about them.
I have been put off wearing liquid lipsticks partly as they seem to remind me of a lip gloss which I am pretty sure I have not wore since leaving primary school, the wonderful sticky lips on a windy day where it was impossible to get your hair off your mouth!! But I have been pleasantly surprised. These doe go on with a wand which does resemble a lip gloss but that has to be the only resemblance, these glide on like a lipstick, aren't sticky and have brilliant staying power. They are not as good as a lip stain, but they are more moisturising on the lips. I did have to re-apply after eating, but overall I love these! I chose very wearable shades for me, I don't tend to be too adventurous when it comes to my lip colour. So I am sure I will be getting a lot of use out of these.

Pixi's Holiday Collection
I was lucky enough to be sent this lovely package from Pixi this is part of their holiday collection, and I had been so excited to giv these products a go!
This package included the Pallette Rosette which is beautifully packaged in their lovely green packaging. It includes 8x eyeshadows 3x brow shades and 3 different face shades a contour colour, a blush and a highlighter. I have to say I have been using these 3 powders so much since opening them. They are so blendable. I have found myself reaching for these more and more especially the contour powder it's the perfect shade for me! The eyeshadows are all really blendable and very pigmented, along with the eyebrow shades to the middle shade worked best for me.
There was also a mattelustre lipstick in the shade classic red this is a lovely cool toned red that is perfect for the festive season. It is matt but isn't drying as some can be. It has brilliant staying power I wore this on a trip to a Christmas market and it survived the mulled wine!
Next is a Endless Silky Eye Pen in the shade OpalOvercoat. This is defiantly silky it went on great and I have found that it sharpens well which is a pet hate of mine when I have a lovely pencil until the first time that you come to sharpen it!
Finally is the Fairy Dust favourites in the shade metallic warmth. There again are brilliant quality they are so pigmented and have very little fall out. I have always been wary of using pigments as I feel I could quite easily get into a mess but these are great and so easy to create looks that are perfect for the festive season!

This was a look that I had created with the products except for the lipstick. This is my trusty Velvet Teddy by Mac as this was more of a daytime look. The products are great to switch between an evening or a daytime look just by changing a couple of things.
I also thought it was worth a mention that I got the eyebrow gel in my M&S advent calendar when I was trying these products, so it seeme a great opportunity to try it with their bow powders. I am wearing both in the imgw above and I think it just finished the brows off nicely. Even doesn't a good job of taming my brows and kept the look in place
