Younique!

I had been looking into the 3D fibre lash mascaras for a while, I had watched plenty of review videos and read numerous blogs so I looking into finding some to try. This was where I found out about becoming a presenter for younique. With this came a makeup kit which included the mascara I wanted to try plus plenty of other goodies to try so. With the opportunity to build your own business from it so I thought I would give it a go. As I could use the makeup to create reviews on for my blog!

This was the lot I received I was so excited to try these products. Especially the mascara but since I have had chance to use these products more they are all amazing

I have been using the uplift serum most mornings around my eyes and although I am lucky enough to not have any wrinkles yet I have bags and I have seen such an improvement for that!

I also love the lipgloss its is really good quality and has some decent staying power without been too greasy! It has a mirror on the side to which isn't anything new I know but I think it is a really nice touch!

If you would like regular updates my Younique journey link my Facebook page:

River Island purchases!

Finally got round to writing this blog!
I had a little online retail therapy on River Islands's website. I was actually after the black and white leggings but as usual ended up purchasing a few more items!

I'll start with the leggings.

I have seen these for a while they are an amazing fit they are soo flattering I have wore them with a sleevless roll neck top and they are really comfortable. Think they will go with so many outfits as long as the top is kept fairly plain as they are quiet patterned which is not normally something that I would go for. These were £25 and I think they are true to size except I had a regular length actually by mistake and they fit me. Been 5' 1" this never happens so may be a bit short for you taller girls!

The next item is this dress and I have to say I am disappointed. It was a shift dress but looked a lot more fitted on the model. I have gone for a size 8 and it has no shape and really doesn't do a great deal for me!  The arms fit perfectly they are not too tight which I find sometime s happens to me! This was £38 which personally I do not think is worth it

This top is lovely it is so think and a lovely cut I think it is really unusual it looks gear with a high waisted skirt. This was £32 but feel this is worth the price as it does look lovely on and it an unusual crop top. This is true to size also!

I have been really into roll neck tops at the moment and think this is lovely as it is a little different with the cutout detail on the collar this was £20 and again is true to size

This is my last and favourite item from what I purchased on the model it came just below her knee. On myself. It is somewhat longer but I actually really like that the sleeves are a perfect length and it is a perfect spring piece as it is still a bit cold here to be going completely without a coat!

Hope you enjoyed looking through my purchase!

Primark Trip!!

I haven't been online for a while due to been ill but a little retail therapy seems to have helped I had a trip to my local Primark mainly to pick up some basics I needed some more white vests as I wear them under practically everything and I love Primark vests they are such good value and really hold their shape. I also needed some socks, but like most trips to Primark I ended up with more items "falling" into my basket!

The first other item was these shots we are no where near shorts weather in "sunny" England but I like to think we are nearly heading to some warmer weather I had a pair of this in a different pattern last year to take on my holiday and I loved hem they are so comfortable, for £4 they are amazing!

The next item again is maybe looking a little far ahead to warmer months but I have seen these in a few Primark haul videos and they looked so cute and comfy and they really are. Think I will be getting some wear out of these in the summer I don't have may light coloured dolly shoes always seem to go for black so these made a nice change these were only £6

I can never resist a Disney Tee from Primark I love Dory and this is so me at the moment ๐Ÿ˜˜ it actually feels so soft was surprised at the quality again for Primark but their licensed items such as Disney do always seem to be nice. This was £6

I have been after I light Denim shirt for ages I saw one in topshop not long ago but was a lot more than this and I think it looks very similar. This was £8 it looks lovely worn open with one of my trusty white vests and the sleeves rolled up such a easy causual top to wear especially if it starts to get a bit warmer so inbetween a coat and bare arms!

I picked up another bikini this was only £4 for the set I wear bikinis all the time as I go swimming every week but Alway nice to stock up on these for holidays and for £4 no reason not to!

I have seen this top again on quite a few Primark haul videos. I was quite pleased to see it in my local Primark. The material is a sort of crepe material and it is slightly tailored around the bust which makes it for great I think it looks a lot more expensive than it was at £5 I think this is brilliant this will look really nice with some denim shorts in the summer or under a blazer for the spring. I love the scalloped edge and the little flowers cut out.

It's hard to show this top from photos it was a bit more pricey for Primark this was £8 but I loved the collar and the back it is a chiffon material on the back that kind of crosses over. I love tops with a collar at the moment and wearing them with a statement necklace. I may wear this for work in the summer or could dress it up for an evening did think this would be a top I would get alot of wear out of!

The next items were accessories which I can never shop in Primark without grabbing something from this section!

I needed a new pair of sunglasses I don't know what happens to mine I always loose them or they end up getting scratched in the car. Both of these come with a little protective bag which is brilliant for me hopefully they will stop getting scratched in the car door! I couldn't decide between these two but the black pair were £2 and the gold £3 so didn't feel too guilty about picking up both!

These last couple of items are hair accessories the 6 pack I thought would look really cute when I have my hair in a high bun just to add a bit more to it. The second one fits perfectly around my ponytail it looks so pretty on and will Lucent up a boring ponytail on days when I can't do anything else with my hair!

Today's Makeup

Defiantly had a different day out today. I went to Monkey world! Somewhere I have been meaning to go for a long time! Finally convinced my fiancรฉ to take me!
As to what to wear as it was extremely cold waking around the park all day!

Look at this little guy! I could easily fill this blog post with so many cute monkeys!

Hair was not much of an issue as I managed to get away with wearing a Beenie hat. My makeup I kept simple with my revlon colour stay and my urban decay naked 3 palette. I filled in my brows with the Maybelline brow satin then set my makeup with maybelline stay Matt powder

Not sure this not so little guy was impressed me wanting a photo!!

I wore my black calf length boots these are flat whic is unusual for me been short lol but I knew I would be on feet and it was worth it. I just have some black leggings from new looks and a floral blouse with a Peter Pan collar not that it can been seen in these pics. My coat is from brave soul and is actually quite warm

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

What's in my Vanity!!

I decided it was time to have a clean out of my vanity table as it had been neglected for a few weeks. I love re-organising things I end up finding things that I have forgotten about, and just don't used use any more! If I can get a better look at what I have got I just find it so much easier doing my imakeup in the morning!

My vanity is from IKEA it is the Malm dresser. I had my eye on this for a while after a failed version I purchased from Argos. It was so flimsy it just did not feel safe! Or maybe I did have a little too much makeup to store inside! The chair is also from IKEA it is called the Tobias char. I also picked up the throw that is on the chair from IKEA it is actually a rug but I think it gives it a softer look.

My makeup brush holders I found on eBay and j was impressed with them they work really well. The beads were also from eBay these were sold as wedding table decorations but think they look lovely in these vases. They also have the brushes upright which I prefer it makes it easier to see what I have got

The mirrored plates are candle holders. I have only recently added these. I'm not sure on how they look yet. What you do think?

I also brought this lipstick stand from eBay. I just store my lipsticks that I use regularly to keep them to hand. Think this is more than enough to be getting on with! I also keep my Ghd's on the table as they come in the case and I use them almost daily for touch ups! I keep other hair tools in my Alex drawers also from IKEA I will do another blog post on what I store in there ๐Ÿ˜

Inside the drawer I have used a divider also from IKEA think this was in the kitchen section but two of these fit perfectly, the only issue with the drawe and these dividers is that there is another compartment at the back of the drawer but it does not open wide enough to get things in the back. At the moment I store extra makeup wipes and samples at the back that I do not use on a regular basis
The left side of the drawe I store my base products such as moisturisers eye creams and primers. I also have my concealers and highlighters in this side. Behind it I store my powders these include blushers foundations and bronzers. In the right compartment I keep my liquid foundations as you can see I have a bit of a thing for revlon colourstay at the moment. I was struggling to find my best shade as I fist purchased these after a holiday so I was somewhat more tanned ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. There is a dark shade of the Maybelline fit me foundation. I have never been this dark but I love this for contouring. Something different from the palette that I normally use.

This is the right hand side of the drawer the furthest to the right has most of my eyeshadows there are some bigger palettes under the mirror and again I have some in my Alex drawers. These are the ones that I like to hand. I do tend to use the same few especially for work. As my last post I love the Matt makeup revolution palette I have been using hear as a everyday work colour. I also have some Mac, Urban Decay and Benefit palettes plus some MUA ones that I have been experimenting with! The next two smaller compartments are mascaras , eyeliner and eyebrow products. I need to find something to separate the eyeliners and the eyebrow pencils I am still on the look out for a divider of some sort??

Hope have enjoyed this blog. I will do one  about my Alex drawers where I store he rest of my hair/ bigger makeup products and face products.

Makeup Revolution Matt Palette

I happen to fall into superdrug the weekend and again saw the Makeup Revolution stand. I have one of these already that is an amazing dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette but this time the Matt palette caught my eye!

I gave it ago this morning and I have to say again for the price of £4 I think it's amazing. I still love my urban decay pallets but I think for everyday wear this is amazing! Especially as these are matts. I don't like wearing shimmery eyeshadow while I'm at work this is something I reserve for a more night time look

As with the other Makeup Revolution palette the only thing I do not like is the sponge applicator, I have never been a fan of these things but using one of my brushes this worked brilliantly.

The case itself does not look anywhere near as nice as the Urban Decay palette and there is also no mirror on the inside but for the price I think that is not an issue

As for the product itself it is really good there is plenty of pigment and they are not too talcy as I would call it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ as some of th cheaper eyeshadows I have tested. You may need slighty more than the Urban Decay alternative but again there is more product in this palette and considering the price I can't see this been an issue!

There wasn't a lot of fallout from this product. I always like to do my foundation first so any eyeshadow that drops under my eye and has to be wiped off normally takes by concealer and foundation with it which needs touch ups bit this was ok. That been said it is a Matt palette so it's not like there will be shimmer that will fall onto my face

Overall I love this product as a everyday eyeshadow from the little time I have been using it will keep using it for sure!

Long loose waves

I have been trying different ways to achieve loose waves in my hair. I have achieved this look using the Babyliss Pro 38mm curling iron

It was so easy to use and because of the size of rh barrel I could curl a lot of hair in one go, which did make the whole process quick it was all curled in 10 mins which is really quick for me as I have a lot of hair!!

I parted my hair in the centre which is not something that I would usually do but I think it looks better as I can curl the shorter pieces at the front both sides away from he face. I do have a slight side fringe cut in but this was hidden with this style

I set the style with my Elnett hairspray which is my favourite and works best for me of all the ones I have tried and there have been a few ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I do like this style it didn't last as long as I would have liked it lasts a lot longer if I use a smaller barrel but this does then achieve smaller curls. These were vet loose waves by the end of the day.

Outfit of the day!!

It was another cold day again to... There's a surprise. Today I was running errands, going out to lunch and to a 4 year olds birthday party so needed something warm and comfortable

My boots were from misguided I had these around Christians time. They are actually really comfortable. They do come up big but this is actually a good thing for me as it means I can layer up the socks!! My wet look leggings are from Dorothy Perkins I have had these for a while but it's not something that I tend to wear alot but I think it breaks it up with the over the knee boots. By jumper I found in Primark and I love it. It's such a nice fit and th material is really soft.

I curled my hair using my ghd v staighteners. This is actually 2nd day hair it was curly the eve before so just had to touch it up this morning. I think it actually holds better 2nd day it's not so slippy

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Everyday eye-makeup

Most mornings when I am getting ready for work I end up with a lot less time to do what I planned to do the night before mostly due to that snooze button!

I have to find a quick way to do my makeup in the morning. I have to admit that most week days my makeup does not change very much!

I have tried so many different foundations but the one that I have seemed to have stayed with for the longest lately is Revlon colourstay. I am currently using number 310. This does seem to last the longest and I do have some dryer patches in my face from time to time as I have some ezcema but this does seem to be one of the better foundations that does not cling to ththe dryer patches.
I have been trying a different eyebrow pencil for the last couple of weeks this a the maybelline brow satin pencil. I have to say I do love the pencil but I have  found that I do not use the power side to it which does seem like it will be a waste but the pencil itself is amazing. As its jot a dog as some out there I find that I can be more precise with it.
I have used a small amount of eyeshadows from my urban decay naked 3 pallet, then just lined my eyelids with my Maybelline black eyeliner.
I have used Max Factor Mascara which has been my go to mascara for years. I find that I need to wear waterproof mascara especially if I am wearing in contacts not sure if this is because I mess with my eyes more throughout the day. I just find that things can get messy if I eat regular mascara

Lip care and longer lasting lipstick ๐Ÿ‘„

I am useless when it comes to lipstick, especially in the winter! I always seem to have chapped lips dispite carrying a bag full of different chopsticks and lip balms so finding any way of making my lipstick last a little bit longer is always welcomed. Obviously if all I am going to do all day is lick my lips not a lot will help but here are a few useful tips:

I put on a lip balm every eve before I go to bed it has just become part of my night time routine. I do have a blistex intensive relief for when my lips are really bad, this does really work I can't recommend it enough although it does will feel a bit strange when it first goes on as has a minty taste which feels cold but it is really soothing. If not I just use my Nivea lip balm

Another tip is to use a dry toothbrush in general circular motion to remove any dead skin from your lips, just make sure that you do this really gently you don't want to make your lips sore

Before I put on any lip colour I normally put some balm on the lips first then start with a lip liner and slightly over line the lips but not too much as this can look very scary very quickly!! Then put in your favourite lipstick blotting and excess with a piece of tissue paper. You can then add some translucent powder over the top finished with another layer of your lipstick

So find this lasts the longest for me. Even with these really cold days at the moment

Hope that helps you

Outfit of the day!!!

Today its cold.... Again but I do love dressing for the winter love layering clothes and boots... As that means been able to put cosy socks on underneath!!!

I went out lunch today and a walk along the river so did need something warm and comfortable

This coat is actually very warm it's not quite as long as I would have liked it to be be, but only been 5'1" it's not much of a problem. I found this in Bhs Which I was pleasantly suprised at. The stole I found on eBay along with the dress!

The thigh high boots were from misguided and I have to say for how hight they are they are very comfortable. I was also worried that because they were thigh high they would be too long for em as I have such a short leg but they were fine. So maybe those girls blessed with really long legs these may be more like knee high boots!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

Quick Makeup Brush Guide

I have collected so many makeup brushes over the years, and there are so many available it can be confusing as to what should be used for what.

I find that especially with eyeshadow brushes rhe best way is to experiment with different sizes to see which works best for you. For example I find bigger brushes better for blending but not for applying product as it normally ends up everywhere except for where I want it!

This is just a quick reference quite that you may find useful

New Years Eve outfit

I had a somewhat quieter New Year's Eve this year it was spent with family and friends in a pub close to home, so my outfit was not that extravagant but I still love an opportunity to dress up!

I actually found this top in the Lipsy sales after Christmas which was a nice find

It is a lovely flattering top but if like me you are not very blessed up top it required some body tape too keep it in place!

I dressed this with some shiny black skinny jeans I had purchased from Dorothy Perkins some time ago

And these shoes that were from Misshuided.co.uk early December

These were comfy to wear I have really narrow feet so there are some styles of court shoes that I have problems with them running as they do not stay out. Any shoes with an ankle strap like these are better I find and they are not too high

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve!!
