I heard about this great website The Personalised Gift Shop, which I thought was great for those unusual gift ideas, I think that they are that little bit more special when they are personalised! They make me feel like more thought went into that present making it just for you.

I received yet another beautiful package from Pixi, they really have an amazing PR team! This was packaged beautifully, in side was my own personalised bottle of their famous Glow Tonic! 

They sent me a selection of their products to try, some where what I would describe as skincare there was the Rose Hip Oil Blotting Paper and Skincare Blotting Paper Vitamins C & E, these are blotting papers that are infused with rose hip oil and the second with added Vitamins C and E all of which are great for your skin!

They also sent a Bamboo Charcoal Blotting Paper, which to is great for blemish prone skin

The next few blotting papers are makeup ones, the conveniently contains makeup actually on the paper itself, which I found to be really handy! The first 2 are blush papers: Blush Blotting Paper shade Montecito and Shade Sunset BLVD these leave a lovely flushed look to your face.

Next there was a Foundation Blotting Paper Shade Golden Glow and a Highlighter Blotting Paper Shade Crystal Cove these were also great for little on the go touch ups or added that little glow when needed!

Hi its good to be back after a lovely break! I had a great Christmas spending quality time with loved ones, it has definitely flew by! I'm looking forward to plenty of exciting times that 2018 will bring!

I wanted to take a look at one of the packages that I received over the holidays, this gorgeous package from Pixi

I have been sent over some lovely hair care items to try from Loreal Professional

They sent be 4 items in total: A shampoo and a conditioner. A hair mask and a hair oil. I was really excited to try these, my hair lately has not felt in the best condition, think this is partly down to the colder weather. But I also have some highlights in my hair. This time of year I normally go darker, but I just fancied a bit of a change this year.

This hair oil to smells amazing. it didn't leave my hair feeling greasy which is a must for me. it also has a pump on the bottle which I much prefer, I think it saves so much mess, don't you?

I thought I would do something a little different this week, plus I was feeling a little festive, having finally made a start on our Christmas decorations. I have been itching to get the Christmas tree up for a while now, but I do like to wait until December, it does make it more special.

I wanted to do something a little different for advent this year as my other half, does not quiet get into the Christmas spirit as I do, and amazingly he is not into chocolate that much I thought I would try get him something different. So I decided to make him one. I actually really enjoyed collecting the items together and making all look nice an festive, I was actually really happy with the way it turned out!

I did struggle to find a box that would be big enough to hold everything and it needed to be strong enough, as I knew there would be some alcohol going into this calendar!

I eventually came across this perfect box in Poundland it was £5. The prices all seem to be different lately in there, not always £1. I still think that for a box this size and this sturdy it was still good value  plus the tissue paper was also from there. I picked up the little fairy lights from there to, this are a really cute bell design. The numbers are little pegs that were attached to a piece of string to be a hanging advent calendar but these came away from the string easily and I have been able to peg them to each present. I found these at Country Baskets

I have tried to keep the cost down by not going crazy on the items I included, but wanted to make them all things that I know he will love. Most of them are different ales that I found online at flavourly.com, which I'm sure he will love. Some of the items are toiletries I got these from Superdrug, these are always useful gifts. The rest of the items are novelty gifts such as a shot game. and some miniature bottles of spirits that I know he will love.

I am excited for him to open this throughout December.

As for me I treated myself to the You Beauty advent calendar, which looks incredible I am so looking forward to opening this each day leading up to Christmas. I had a beauty advent calendar last year, I had the one form M&S. Their calendar this year does look amazing it is sold out online but you can still find it in-store. I also had the Mini Mani Month from Ciate. Which I really enjoyed to, Their nail polishes are amaxing. It does look just as good this year, I just think that I have enough nail polishes to get be through this year! I just fancied something different this year. I was looking for a calendar that had a good mix of makeup and skincare as I found that a lot of them seem to focus on one or the other.

 I have been sent some lovely lip products from Pixi By Petra. I have only tried a couple of lipsticks from this brand before. I have to say that I have found them to be really good quality.

This collection contained 3 lipsticks that are in lovely wearable shades for me, and are perfect for this time of year. I like the formula they are not a matte lipstick are kind of a creamy formula, they are not glossy either, they are kind of an in between which I actually really like, as they are not as drying as a matte, and they are really comfortable to wear.

The other 3 are lip balms, these for me are perfect for this time of year, they do give you a bit of colour but not too much. They are really moisturising which is defiantly needed with this colder weather!

The packaging is really nice they have the typical green packaging from Pixi which I really like its definitely their colour

I have been sent some products from Mary Kay Cosmetics to try out this week, this is a brand that I have not heard of before, but I was excited to try them once I had a look into it.

They very kindly sent me 3 items: The first been a body lotion, a lipstick and a moisturising gel

This was a lovely feeling moisturiser, I tried it on my legs. It did make them feel really smooth and supple. It was a bit sticky for a while but did absorb fairly quickly. It also has a lovely scent. I always prefer moisturisers

First of all I love the packaging of this lipstick its so cool, it took me a while to figure it out to be honest, you push it from the bottom then the lipstick slides out, Its really neat packaging. As for the colour its lovely just not quite to my taste it is a little bright for me. The formula however is lovely its not drying on the lips but still stays put really well.
