Today's Makeup

Defiantly had a different day out today. I went to Monkey world! Somewhere I have been meaning to go for a long time! Finally convinced my fiancΓ© to take me!
As to what to wear as it was extremely cold waking around the park all day!

Look at this little guy! I could easily fill this blog post with so many cute monkeys!

Hair was not much of an issue as I managed to get away with wearing a Beenie hat. My makeup I kept simple with my revlon colour stay and my urban decay naked 3 palette. I filled in my brows with the Maybelline brow satin then set my makeup with maybelline stay Matt powder

Not sure this not so little guy was impressed me wanting a photo!!

I wore my black calf length boots these are flat whic is unusual for me been short lol but I knew I would be on feet and it was worth it. I just have some black leggings from new looks and a floral blouse with a Peter Pan collar not that it can been seen in these pics. My coat is from brave soul and is actually quite warm

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

What's in my Vanity!!

I decided it was time to have a clean out of my vanity table as it had been neglected for a few weeks. I love re-organising things I end up finding things that I have forgotten about, and just don't used use any more! If I can get a better look at what I have got I just find it so much easier doing my imakeup in the morning!

My vanity is from IKEA it is the Malm dresser. I had my eye on this for a while after a failed version I purchased from Argos. It was so flimsy it just did not feel safe! Or maybe I did have a little too much makeup to store inside! The chair is also from IKEA it is called the Tobias char. I also picked up the throw that is on the chair from IKEA it is actually a rug but I think it gives it a softer look.

My makeup brush holders I found on eBay and j was impressed with them they work really well. The beads were also from eBay these were sold as wedding table decorations but think they look lovely in these vases. They also have the brushes upright which I prefer it makes it easier to see what I have got

The mirrored plates are candle holders. I have only recently added these. I'm not sure on how they look yet. What you do think?

I also brought this lipstick stand from eBay. I just store my lipsticks that I use regularly to keep them to hand. Think this is more than enough to be getting on with! I also keep my Ghd's on the table as they come in the case and I use them almost daily for touch ups! I keep other hair tools in my Alex drawers also from IKEA I will do another blog post on what I store in there 😍

Inside the drawer I have used a divider also from IKEA think this was in the kitchen section but two of these fit perfectly, the only issue with the drawe and these dividers is that there is another compartment at the back of the drawer but it does not open wide enough to get things in the back. At the moment I store extra makeup wipes and samples at the back that I do not use on a regular basis
The left side of the drawe I store my base products such as moisturisers eye creams and primers. I also have my concealers and highlighters in this side. Behind it I store my powders these include blushers foundations and bronzers. In the right compartment I keep my liquid foundations as you can see I have a bit of a thing for revlon colourstay at the moment. I was struggling to find my best shade as I fist purchased these after a holiday so I was somewhat more tanned πŸ˜ƒ. There is a dark shade of the Maybelline fit me foundation. I have never been this dark but I love this for contouring. Something different from the palette that I normally use.

This is the right hand side of the drawer the furthest to the right has most of my eyeshadows there are some bigger palettes under the mirror and again I have some in my Alex drawers. These are the ones that I like to hand. I do tend to use the same few especially for work. As my last post I love the Matt makeup revolution palette I have been using hear as a everyday work colour. I also have some Mac, Urban Decay and Benefit palettes plus some MUA ones that I have been experimenting with! The next two smaller compartments are mascaras , eyeliner and eyebrow products. I need to find something to separate the eyeliners and the eyebrow pencils I am still on the look out for a divider of some sort??

Hope have enjoyed this blog. I will do one  about my Alex drawers where I store he rest of my hair/ bigger makeup products and face products.

Makeup Revolution Matt Palette

I happen to fall into superdrug the weekend and again saw the Makeup Revolution stand. I have one of these already that is an amazing dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette but this time the Matt palette caught my eye!

I gave it ago this morning and I have to say again for the price of £4 I think it's amazing. I still love my urban decay pallets but I think for everyday wear this is amazing! Especially as these are matts. I don't like wearing shimmery eyeshadow while I'm at work this is something I reserve for a more night time look

As with the other Makeup Revolution palette the only thing I do not like is the sponge applicator, I have never been a fan of these things but using one of my brushes this worked brilliantly.

The case itself does not look anywhere near as nice as the Urban Decay palette and there is also no mirror on the inside but for the price I think that is not an issue

As for the product itself it is really good there is plenty of pigment and they are not too talcy as I would call it πŸ˜ƒ as some of th cheaper eyeshadows I have tested. You may need slighty more than the Urban Decay alternative but again there is more product in this palette and considering the price I can't see this been an issue!

There wasn't a lot of fallout from this product. I always like to do my foundation first so any eyeshadow that drops under my eye and has to be wiped off normally takes by concealer and foundation with it which needs touch ups bit this was ok. That been said it is a Matt palette so it's not like there will be shimmer that will fall onto my face

Overall I love this product as a everyday eyeshadow from the little time I have been using it will keep using it for sure!

Long loose waves

I have been trying different ways to achieve loose waves in my hair. I have achieved this look using the Babyliss Pro 38mm curling iron

It was so easy to use and because of the size of rh barrel I could curl a lot of hair in one go, which did make the whole process quick it was all curled in 10 mins which is really quick for me as I have a lot of hair!!

I parted my hair in the centre which is not something that I would usually do but I think it looks better as I can curl the shorter pieces at the front both sides away from he face. I do have a slight side fringe cut in but this was hidden with this style

I set the style with my Elnett hairspray which is my favourite and works best for me of all the ones I have tried and there have been a few πŸ˜ƒ

I do like this style it didn't last as long as I would have liked it lasts a lot longer if I use a smaller barrel but this does then achieve smaller curls. These were vet loose waves by the end of the day.

Outfit of the day!!

It was another cold day again to... There's a surprise. Today I was running errands, going out to lunch and to a 4 year olds birthday party so needed something warm and comfortable

My boots were from misguided I had these around Christians time. They are actually really comfortable. They do come up big but this is actually a good thing for me as it means I can layer up the socks!! My wet look leggings are from Dorothy Perkins I have had these for a while but it's not something that I tend to wear alot but I think it breaks it up with the over the knee boots. By jumper I found in Primark and I love it. It's such a nice fit and th material is really soft.

I curled my hair using my ghd v staighteners. This is actually 2nd day hair it was curly the eve before so just had to touch it up this morning. I think it actually holds better 2nd day it's not so slippy

Hope you all had a lovely weekend
