Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick Review

Just thought I would write a quick review on a new lipstick I have tried from Avon. It's not normally a brand I would use but have to say I'm impressed. I have had a look at the ultra colour lipstick in the shade rapid rose

I have to say I have been very impressed. I would compare the consistency with that of a Mac Creamsheen. The colour is very long lasting and isn't drying on the lips at all! It leaves a lovely glossy finish which is easy to top up. It lasted me though food and drink and is a lovely colour, I would describe it as a pinky red, one that is very wearable!

Mini Seventeen Haul

The I received some makeup goodies in the post today so thought I would share my thoughts on them with you.
I received the Instant Glow Bronzing Rocks, the Brows That brow kit and the Long Lash mascara.

First up I we will have a look at the bronzing rocks. I really like the packaging on these it is a really chunky Perspex base then a simple lid. It feels really sturdy!

The product itself suprised me slightly as the rocks are gold and pink which is unusual for a bronzer but it is such a lovely summery shade that is slightly shimmery but to much. It doesn't come with a brush so I used my real techniques blusher brush this worked perfect. I was able to use this as a contour under my cheekbones and it looked lovely.

Next up is the Brows That brow kit! I tend to switch between brow products, I have been using pencils a lot at the moment so I was keen to try a different powder.

The packaging on this is again really sleep and robust I was pleasantly suprised by the mirror that filled the entire lid. This is really useful for thinks such as eyeliner and eyebrows where I would ranger get a closer look at what i am doing. This does have a pencil for defining the brows which i like to use on the bottoms of my brows and for the tail as mine naturally have a stubby end this worked brilliantly it was just the right shade for me. I then filled in the sparse areas with the middle powder. There is a highlighting shade which I really like for under my arch of my eyebrow. This isn't shimmery which is something I would like for a evening look this is good for a daytime look. The wax which is the left one to set my unruly brows in place! This did do the trick!

There is this little handy guide included to I actually used this in a slightly different way as I like to set my brows last but depends which way works best for you.

The final product was the Long Lash mascara

The packaging on this is really slim and compact. I like the brush it is a lot smaller than some I would normally use, I have been using the Maxfaxtor masterpiece mascara for a while now and the brush on that is huge! That been said I was still able to achieve some decent length on my eyelashes with this. It was brilliant at getting into the corners of my eyes to catch all of those smaller eyelashes and especially the bottom lashes I really love it for that.

Hope you found my review helpful

Drugstore Contour Kits

I have been having wanted to try some contouring kits for a while, I have been using highlighters for some time mostly powdered ones but thought I would like to see the full effect of using a kit. I have contoured with some darker concealer in the past with varying results! Some looking lovely others looking more like a bad fake tan job! 😂
I have had a lot better luck with these two contour kits in particular, the first been the Define and Contour Kit by Seventeen. The 2nd the Loreal Infallible Sculpt Contour Kit. I have to say how much I love both of this kits! Seventeen's is a powder kit and Loreal is a cream consistency in the UK version. Depending on what is your preference or skin type there may be a formulation that is more suited to your skin type. I would say that I have a combination skin type and I didn't have a problem with either of these.

Firstly the Seventeen Pallett:

I love the packaging for this it looks really sleek and the mirror fills the entire lid which is so useful especially for travel, it almost has a Nars feel to it which I love! I did my usual foundation/ concealer routine then used this as a final step. I used my real techniques brush and it blends out so perfectly it is really an amazing consistency it didn't look cakey. I would say i could set my makeup with this product, I don't get particularly oily skin but this product did last very well on me. They are both Matt shades so the highlighter doesn't leave you with a shimmery glow but is is brilliant down the bridge of your nose and under your eyes across  your cheekbones which was here I used it. It is perfect for hollowing out your cheekbones.

Next the Loreal Pallet:

I was excited to see this as it was a cream consistency which I have not seen so much of in drugstores. The packaging on this pallet for me doesn't look at good, I know that is not the most important thing for a beauty product but it looks cheaper and the mirror that is on the lid had actually come unstuck on the mine so was face down in the product which was not a good start! It was easy to rectify though. You do get plenty of product in this pallet I was suprised. The consistency of this product is amazing it's a cream but it's such an opaque colour and isn't greasy at all it almost drys like a powder which I found really interesting. I think it was easier to get more of a chiselled cheekbone look with the cream contour but wasn't as highlighting with it been so matt?

Overall I have loved both of these products will defiantly be repurchasing when these are out
